Trak Gun™

Spike Driver - Model 130B

Back
The Model 130B is a single head spiking machine that sets and drives two spikes concurrently on one rail at production rates of 15–18 ties per minute with just one operator and a second person to fill the spike chutes. The machine can drive line and anchor spikes on both sides of one rail and has sufficient pattern adjustment to drive all spikes in tie plates for 85-lb. to 155-lb. standard rails.

The 130B provides an effective alternative to the use of production spikers in curve and rail relay gangs. With it's compact size and operating weight of less than 6,500-lbs. it's not only more efficient than the large production machines, but can easily be set on or off the track by the mobile cranes used in these gangs.

Like other Harsco Track Technologies TRAK GUNÔ Spike Driving machines, the 130B features reciprocating, hydraulic driving guns that for over thirty years have proven the advantages of impact spiking. Spikes driven tight to the rail, fewer bent spikes, less rework and an easier job of assuring that spiking meets quality standards.

In operation, spikes are individually selected from the feed chutes and positioned for driving by a "Swing Feed" system (patent pending) which quickly and accurately positions spikes and holds them firm until set by the driving gun.

A variety of options such as a tie nipper, remote pattern change, mechanical gauger, and a spike loading boom and winch adapt the machine to handle many functions.

The Model 130B TRAK GUNÔ Single Rail Spike Driver—the efficient and productive way to handle curve and rail relay spiking needs.

Major Features

  • Provides spiking capacity comparable to larger production spikers in a compact machine that is easily set on and off the rail by a mobile crane.
  • Equipped with same proven reciprocating drivers and swing-feed system as the larger Model 96 production spiking machines.
  • Operates more economically than using a large production spiker for single rail spiking jobs.
